Auto-Boost Setup

Auto-Boost Configuration

The Auto-Boost feature allows you to automatically boost posts on a second Mastodon instance.

Prerequisites

  • You must have a primary Mastodon account configured on https://social.5th.ro
  • You need an account on a second Mastodon instance
  • You need an access token from the second instance with write:statuses permission

Configuration Steps

  1. Go to Settings → 5th Social Bot → Auto-Boost tab
  2. Enable Auto-Boost
  3. Enter the second Mastodon instance URL (e.g., https://mastodon.social)
  4. Enter the access token from the second instance
  5. Configure rate limits:
    • Maximum boosts per day: 1-10 (default: 10)
    • Minimum interval between boosts: 30 minutes - 2 hours (default: 30 minutes)
  6. Click Test connection with second instance to verify
  7. Click Save Settings

How It Works

  • When a post is published to your primary Mastodon instance, it is automatically added to the boost queue
  • The plugin respects rate limits and processes boosts gradually
  • If a boost fails (e.g., post not federated yet), it is automatically retried after 5 minutes
  • You can manually boost posts using the "Boost now" button in the Bulk & queue tab
